Description: Firefly is a casually elegant bistro that offers a lounge, private booths with tables covered with white linen and cloth napkins. Outdoor seating is available making it a great location for a quiet date, business meeting or celebratory event. The lounge is a great place to reunite with a group of friends after work or a late dinner offering a unique menu and great cocktails.
We started with the delicately fried calamari which is served with a sweet and spicy thai chili sauce that adds an excellent flavor to the perfectly cooked calamari. Any one of three sauces are available, a zesty marinara, or a garlic, lemon and hot cherry peppers.
I ordered the old world Fish n' Chips off the Classics section of the menu. The beer battered haddock was light and flaky as it fell off my fork with a crispy flavorful breading. A great choice.
We definitely will return for the Sunday brunch and opportunity to make a customized bloody Mary and I've heard great things about the go-go bread appetizer.

Notes: Firefly shares a parking lot with a nearby church and finding free parking can be challenging. You might be lucky enough to find on-street metered parking and there is a large public parking garage adjacent to the restaurant.
I occasionally have the opportunity to travel across the United States. As I visit each location I search the internet for local places to visit, things to do, and unique local restaurants. My search results are varied and usually end up on a travel website trying to sell me goods or services that I don't necessarily want or need. Since I struggle to find a good travel blog, I decided to compile my own based on personal experiences and share those thoughts with you. Enjoy!
Note:
Click on the tab below for an interactive map of venues visited in each location. Each city visited offers many more things to do, places to visit and dining options than I have the ability to visit. The descriptions and accounts in this blog are based on my own thoughts, experiences and opinion. If there are any great places that I've missed and aren't described or listed in each of these locations please shoot me a note and I'll add them to the 'wish list' for my hopeful return.

The Coach Stop
The Coach Stop
Address: 176 Mammoth Rd
City, State: Londonderry NH 03053
Located on the corner at the intersection of route 102 and route 128
Hours:
Monday - Tuesday: 11:30AM - 10PM
Wednesday - Saturday: 11:30AM - 11PM
Sunday: 12PM - 10PM
Website: The Coach Stop
Description: The Coach Stop, constructed in 1810 originally served as a homestead and is one of the oldest structures in Londonderry. In the late 1800's the homestead was a stagecoach stop for travelers and converted to a tavern.
The Coach Stop has very good ratings and reviews, the building contains several semi-private rooms each with a fireplace and photographs of historic Londonderry. The business casual atmosphere is good for a quiet date, celebratory dinner or business meeting. They offer dual menus, one for the restaurant and a second tavern menu. The upstairs tavern offers several TV's in a more relaxed and social atmosphere.
I've had the opportunity to eat in both the restaurant and tavern and unfortunately the food failed to impress me. The first visit we stopped at the tavern for a quick bite. The Steak Tip Wrap with it's grilled marinated steak tips, american cheese, onions, peppers, mushrooms and a roasted garlic mayonnaise. Unfortunately, I wasn't wowed by the flavor of the fairly average wrap. With the stellar 4 star reviews on travel sites I chocked this meal to a fluke and decided to return at another time for dinner.
Dinner was off the "A Little Italian" section of the menu and consisted of the Chicken Parmesan. An Italian breaded chicken deep fried, baked with marinara, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese served over linguine. The meal was disappointing. The chicken breading was very crunchy and dark making the well cooked chicken very dry. The best way to explain this seems as if the frying oil used was several weeks old causing the dark and overcooked appearance. The marinara sauce was extremely wet and runny as if I was eating linguine soup off my plate. Another flavorless meal at The Coach Stop. In this case, two strikes and you're out!

Notes: As I visit each establishment I attempt to find positive qualities about the location and menu. I understand everyone's palate contains a variety of flavor profiles and I try and give a restaurant flexibility if a meal I order doesn't meet my expectations therefore, I attempt to keep my reviews unbiased one way or another. Unfortunately, The Coach Stop more than once disappointed not only me but also the parties in my family who also attended these meals. My overall evaluation is over-priced and under-flavored. We will not return.
